LyricLens does not collect any personal information. Specifically:

No account or login required
No usage analytics or telemetry
No cookies set by the extension
No advertising or ad-related tracking
No browsing history recorded

Network Requests

When you visit a YouTube video, LyricLens sends the YouTube video ID to flashcards.alexsears.org to fetch caption and translation data for that video. This is the only network request the extension makes. No other data is transmitted.

Local Storage

LyricLens stores a single preference in your browser's localStorage:

Language preference (Thai or Lao) -- so the extension remembers which meaning source you selected.

This data never leaves your browser.

Permissions

The extension requests only the minimum permissions needed to function:

activeTab -- to interact with the current YouTube page
Host permissions for youtube.com -- to inject the overlay on YouTube video pages
Host permissions for flashcards.alexsears.org -- to fetch caption/translation data

Third-Party Services

The only external service used is flashcards.alexsears.org, which provides caption data. This service does not log or store any user-identifying information from extension requests.

Changes to This Policy
